Leading Learning
Suzhou Singapore International School
October 19-20, 2019

Workshop Outline

Being an effective leader in schools nowadays means being able to lead teams to improve learning. Around the world, compliance and management approaches to doing this work have repeated failed to yield the quality results our communities want for their children. A large body of research and practice emphasises building the capacity of teams to know their ‘why’, ‘what’ and ‘how’ and to lead by influence. This workshop by Director of Teaching and Learning at UWCSEA Stuart MacAlpine is designed to help you develop the thinking and capacity to do this work.

  • You will be more prepared and confident to lead learning
  • Develop ways of thinking about learning to build adaptability and flexibility
  • Know and understand how to apply different influential leadership strategies
  • Develop further a project you are currently undertaking
  • Build your networks and relationships to other learning leaders
  • Become aware of important research on learning that will support your leadership
