This PLN will establish a collaborative community of educators, advancing the practices of innovative librarians in our schools. Participants will focus on collaborating and sharing common professional inquiries on their practices in the role of the school librarian, diversifying collections, collaborating and co-teaching, and developing innovative library spaces.   

This PLN is ideal for all librarians and educators who seek to expand their understanding of the evolving leadership role the teacher librarian facilitates in schools. These sessions are the junction of the practical and aspirational practices in the international community. Participants are welcome to share and have some great take-aways to adapt to their libraries. Educators from Pre-K to Grade 12 are all welcome.

Creating transformative library spaces: towards dynamic and flexible learning 

Speaker:  Erin Wilson

PLN meetings will be moderated by Erin Wilson, who currently works as a Whole School IB Librarian in Dhaka, Bangladesh. She has vast experience working with diverse cultures from Native American students to inner-city students and the international community. Her Master of Library Science degree is from Indiana University and has worked as a school librarian for fourteen years in the US, China, India, and Bangladesh.

Approximately 2-weeks before the start of the course, participants will be emailed a course introduction, instructions for how to participate and a pre-course survey and readings, if applicable.  If you do not receive this email please let us know.


If notice of cancellation re the registered participant is received:

  • 30+ days pre-event: 80% of fee is refundable
  • 15-29 days pre-event: 40% of fee is refundable
  • Less than 15 days pre-event: no refund

"Event" means the first PLN strand session in the annual program.
Participants who commence but do not complete the full annual program (withdrawing part way through) will not be granted any fee refund.
You may request substitution of a participant(s) and this will be processed at no cost.
Any free places purchased will be cancelled first.  Free places cancelled are not refundable.


In the event of cancellation of any session of the three PLN strand annual sessions, we will make a pro-rata refund or provide an equivalent credit for the registration fee(s) paid.
