2024 HS Math Olympiad
On November 16 2024, NIS organised and hosted the prestigious 2024 ACAMIS Math Olympiad for the first time since the pandemic. With over 60 students from schools across China in attendance, excitement was high. This competition represents the highest level of math competition for international schools in China, making it an important event for students passionate about mathematics. Young mathematicians participated in various rounds, including group and individual speed challenges. NIS was proud to take home 3rd place!
The 2024 ACAMIS Math Olympiad saw students, alongside their peers from different schools, compete in a series of skill-based activities, gaining points for their teamwork and creative approaches to challenges. This focus on diverse skills allowed students to showcase their strengths in a supportive and dynamic environment, setting the stage for future ACAMIS Math Olympiads. Congratulations and well done to all our student-mathematicians for their success and hard work at the ACAMIS Olympiad!
2019 HS Math Olympiad
On May 17 & 18, Math department of Canadian International School of Beijing (CISB) had the pleasure of hosting ACAMIS Math contest-2019. It was a great success and shout-out by one and all. One hundred five young mathematicians were participating; accompanied by more than 25 math coaches/teachers from thirteen international schools. We started the event with a grand opening ceremony. StageCats of CISB performed a math dance; followed by School Head address.
We started the contest at 10:30 am and concluded the next day at 4:00 pm. We tried our best to make this event enjoyable to the students together with making them solving more than 300 questions. We had a total of ten rounds, which include individual as well as relays. Our trivia round was breathtaking and the most enjoyable. We had a total of 15 trophies – 12 for individuals and 3 for groups. We did not forget about teachers, apart from lunches and barbecue, they had loads of coffee, tea, and skewed-fruits. All awards were presented by our school head Mr. Prescott and math department teachers in closing ceremony.
