BCIS hosted the ACAMIS First Lego League Robotics Competition on the 13th of April 2024. 17 teams from 5 different schools took part in an exciting and joyful day filled with fantastic robot designs, intricate coding, and FUN! The core values of discovery, teamwork, including, and innovation were also abundantly evident in the Judges room as they saw a whole range of great designs and Innovation projects.


The Awards

Every team made so much progress between each run on the robotics table and learnt so much from the judges when they went to present their robot design, core values and Innovation project. The level of competition was incredibly high, but so was the spirit of gracious professionalism as well. It was really a joy to see. The ACAMIS FLL Robotics Competition 2024 winners are as follows.

The Rising Star Award

Keystone Academy - 4/5 Team - This award celebrates a team that the judges notice and expect great things from in the future. The 4/5 team had so much energy, enthusiasm and collabrative skills during the competion.

The Motivate Award

Dulwich College Beijing - Team Two - This award celebrates the team that best embraced the culture of FIRST LEGO League through team building, team spirit, and enthusiasm.

Breakthrough Award

Beijing City International School - Undauntable Team - This award was given to this team based on the amount of progress we saw in the competition and how much potential they have to excel in future competions.

Engineering Excellence Award

WAB - Odyssey Team - This Award is all about engineering excellence. The judges were really impressed with the robots chassis design and the simplicity of the attachements.

Core Values Award

Beijing World Youth Academy - Old Spike Team - This award is given to the team who best represents the FLLs core values of Discovery, Innovation, Impact, Inclusion, Teamwork, and Fun. The judges were really impressed with how they supported each other too.

Innovation Project Award

Keystone Academy - Phoneix Team - This award is about thinking creatively, iterative design and in communicating your ideas and in all of these aspects Phoenix team excelled.

Robot Design Award

WAB - Odyssey Team - This Award is all about iterative design for both the physical robot and the code. The judges were really impressed with this teams physical design, coding design and their ability to share these design ideas clearly.

Robot Performance – Bronze

Keystone Academy - 008 Team - This award is given to the third highest team to score on the Robot game and this team managed to achieve an amazing 270 points in the Robot table.

Robot Performance - Silver

Keystone Academy - Phoenix Team - This award is given to the second highest team to score in the Robot game and this team managed to achieve an astounding 280 points on the Robot table.

Robot Performance - Gold

WAB - Slash Function Team - This award is given to the highest scoring team in the Robot game and this team managed to achieve an amazing 290 points on the Robot table.

Champions Award

Keystone Academy - Phoenix Team - This award takes into account the Robot game, Robot Design, Innovation project and the Teams Core Values. The Phoenix team did exceptionally well in all 4 of these aspects of the competition and are therefore awarded this years champions awards.
