Virginia is an experienced arts educator and school leader with over 12 years of experience spanning the United States and China. Virginia is a licensed K–12 music educator specializing in choral arts, musical theatre, and general music. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Policy from Boston College.
Virginia began her career at Forsyth Country Day School in North Carolina, where she taught K–12 general music, directed the Middle School Choirs, and led the after-school Arts Enrichment Center. Her work there earned her the Edith Spinks Award for Teaching Excellence and the Lower School Teacher of the Year Award.
Virginia currently serves as the PYP Arts Team Lead and Upper PYP Music Teacher at the International School of Nanshan Shenzhen. In addition, she is the school’s CIS Accreditation Coordinator and Co-Head of the DEIJB Committee. She is a frequent presenter at professional workshops and conferences, and extends her leadership into the community as a board member for the Shekou International Singers and as a volunteer for the international nonprofit Captivating International.
After several years serving as her school's Academic and Cultural Enrichment Representative for the Association of China and Mongolia International Schools, Virginia now steps into the role of ACAMIS ACE Chair. She looks forward to sharing her experience and vision with the ACE Team, and to building enrichment programs that benefit students and educators alike.
