ACAMIS Student Film Festival
The ACAMIS Virtual Student Film Festival is an opportunity for student filmmakers in ACAMIS member schools to write, produce, film, edit, and submit their own student films. It’s a chance for young auteurs to be creative, demonstrate their cinematic skills/knowledge, and showcase their creations virtually for teachers and students all over China and Mongolia.
Are you interested in film making? Or are you perhaps learning about film from one of your Visual Arts units? This is an opportunity for you to showcase your creativity through the magic of film! Please make sure that your short film is at least 2 minutes long and does not exceed 5 minutes in length.
You can scan the code above on the poster to submit your film. Please make sure that you convert your film file into an MP4 before sending! Color and black and white are accepted! We look froward to receiving your submissions! The winners will have their films showcased at future ACAMIS conferences!
For questions or more information please contact Danny Griffith at dannygriffith@nanjing-school.com.
Please note: films should be made entirely by the student(s). Teachers and other adults must only be involved in a supervisory role or as actors.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can my mum hold the camera?
No. Your parents or other adults can be in front of the camera (as actors or extras) but not behind the camera.
Can I submit an animation I made?
No. While including animation of some kind within your film is fine for artistic purposes, the aim of this event is to have students create live action films.
Can I submit work as a group?
Absolutely! In fact, it may be practically impossible to make a film all by yourself
Can I submit a film I made last school year or earlier?
No. Films must be made this school year (August 2024 onwards)
What format should I export my film in or convert my film to for submission?
MP4 please. This allows the judges to view the films easily.
What sort of things shouldn’t be in my film?
As this is for school-aged children, please do not include drug or alcohol use, explicit language, nudity or themes/footage of a sexual nature, or gratuitous violence. We don’t want to stifle creativity, but because younger children may be watching these films we will not be able to accept work that includes these things.
Do I have to have dialogue or even actors?
No. If you can make a beautiful film without then go for it!
